Black Knights' Bronze Medal




On Monday August 20, 2001 The "Black Kiights" colorguard from VFW Post 7591 participated in the 2001 VFW National Convention Field Competion for Colorguard Units. The "Black Knights" received the Bronze Medal for 3rd place against very tough competition from some very fine VFW colorguard units from thoughout the country.

The "Black Knights" were the only post level colorguard unit that participated in the Field Competition by their own resources, accepting no outside support. The unit under the command of Chief Master Sargeant Joe Ellis (USAF Retired) achieved this honor by improving from the 7th place finish at the 100th VFW Convention Field Competition in Kansas City, Missouri last year.

The members of VFW Day Post 7591 congratulates the "Black Knights" on their fine performance this year. A special thanks goes to CMSgt Joe Ellis (USAF Retired) for his hard work and dedication to the colorguard unit and the post.

In addition, the mens color guard received the plaque for being the "Best Appearing Men's Color Guard Unit" at the VFW National Patriotic Rally held on Tuesday 21 August 2001 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Happy Dayettes' Silver Medal






On Monday August 20, 2001 The "Happy Dayettes" colorguard from VFW Post 7591 Ladies Auxilary participated in the 2001 VFW National Convention Field Competion for Auxilary Colorguard Units. The "Happy Dayettes" received the Silver Medal for 2nd place against some tough competition by auxilary colorguard units from thoughout the country.

The "Happy Dayettes" were the only post level auxilary colorguard unit that participated in the Field Competition by their own resources, accepting no outside support. The unit under the command of Beverly Ellis they achieved this honor by improving from the 3rd place finish at the 100th VFW Convention Field Competition in Kansas City, Missouri last year.

The members of VFW Day Post 7591 and Ladies Auxilary congratulates the "Happy Dayettes" on their fine performance this year. A special thanks goes to Beverly Ellis for her hard work and dedication to the auxilary colorguard unit, the auxilary, and VFW Post 7591.
