Memorial Day, is traditionally May 30th, or May 28th this year as designated by Congress, is a day of "National Mourning." All U.S. Flags should be displayed at half-staff during the morning hours. At 12:00 noon, all flags should be raised back to full-staff.

It's a sacred day to all war veterans: No veteran needs to be reminded of the reason why Memorial Day must be commemorated. But what about the general public, and more importantly, future generations? Do most non-veterans really recognize the importance of Memorial Day?

This year VFW Day Post 7591 will celebrate Memorial Day by having its Color Guard, the "Black Knights," and the Auxiliary Color Guard, the "Happy Dayettes," marching in the Memorial Day Parade at Monona, Wisconsin. After the parade the color guards will proceed to several local cemeteries for memorial services.
Prior to Memorial Day the post will place American Flags on the graves of veterans at the Blooming Grove and Roselawn Cemeteries.
