Why Join The VFW?
Each post member has different reasons for joining the VFW. Perhaps the most common theme is best summed up by our national site. “Simply put, the VFW strives to do good things for deserving people; particularly veterans, their families, and their communities. From local grassroots ideas to national influence, we work everyday to make a difference. It’s our strength as an organization. And, with each individual membership, we only grow stronger.” You can find many more reasons at “Why Join The VFW?”
Member Benefits
Your membership dues support our mission to serve and represent our veterans at the local, state and national level. You can choose between an annual membership, which costs $45 per year or a lifetime membership. The cost of a lifetime membership varies based on your age and can be spread out through an installment plan. More detailed information is available at “Join”
Eligibility
The VFW has well defined eligibility criteria that reflect the pride of our organization. In short, if you have received a campaign medal for overseas service; have served 30 consecutive or 60 non-consecutive days in Korea; or have ever received hostile fire or imminent danger pay, then you’re eligible to join our ranks. Full information is available in this eligibility information pamphlet (PDF).
